‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe Expected To Launch This Week

The new wipe is almost here.

Predicting when a new wipe will arrive in Escape From Tarkov is never easy, but it seems that the community has a pretty good idea that the next wipe in Escape From Tarkov will arrive this week, perhaps as soon as tomorrow, thanks to the latest pre-wipe event.

A new pre-wipe event, a change to the game made during the final stages of the wipe, has set all traders to have the max level for everyone and all their items are dirt cheap, meaning you can effectively buy what you want. There has been a small mistake in the fact that the dev team didn’t remove global limits, so everything basically sells out the second it refreshes, but that’s expected to be fixed very soon.

Pre-wipe events like this are common days before the wipe arrives, basically sending the entire game into chaos as anyone can have practically any load out they want for a tiny price. It basically brings an end to the overall metagame of getting better gear and making money, but the chaos it brings does provide a good fun reset before the actual reset arrives.

Also, the Escape From Tarkov rankings, a new system added a few weeks ago as an event to reward players who could make it to the top of the leaderboards, is set to end today, adding further evidence that the new wipe is coming soon.

The community seems to think that the wipe will arrive tomorrow, once the ranking system ends. Typically these fire sale-type events don’t tend to last more than a couple of days, so Thursday does seem like a pretty good estimate for the wipe. However, as we know from previous wipe releases it won’t arrive until it is ready, so it could take longer if any last-minute issues pop up.

As always, once the wipe hits almost all your progression will be gone, and you’ll have the usual new wipe inventory with all your hard-earned loot gone for good, so if you’ve been saving some cool weapons to use then you best go out and use them now before you lose them forever.

But the new wipe also brings a new patch, and we know that this one will add a few new features. There will be a new boss, the ability to attach lights to helmets and some new weapons to play with. Chances are there will be a lot of other changes revealed when the patch notes arrive, so keep an eye out over the next day or two for them.
